HISTORY OF MERUHDANI

Ubud Bali Hotel Eagle Eye View

The Story Behind The Name

The name Meruhdani was created from the names of our ancestors, Meruh and Dani. Meruh was an early head of the village in the Ubud area, and we wanted to commemorate his legacy as an important part of our family history. The land on which our property is built was passed down by him. In his honor, we have also named our rooms after his children, including our beloved grandfather, Roda.

From Roda Homestay to Meruhdani

Meruhdani is the result of an expansion of our family business in 1979. Our grandfather, uncle, and father built Roda Accommodation, which was located on Jalan Kajeng and known as Rumah Roda Homestay. In 2015, our family expanded further with the construction of Meruhdani. Our wish is for our guests to experience what it is like to live alongside a real Balinese family in Ubud. Therefore, our guesthouses are located alongside the main family home. Each room has been designed to offer a modern feel, while still honoring tradition. In every room, you will find Balinese paintings and artwork that provide a glimpse into Bali’s rich past.

We warmly welcome every guest who stays at Meruhdani.
